COVID19 UPDATE: Showrooms reopening Monday 15th June

Dear customers,

We are delighted to announce that we will be reopening the doors of our showrooms on Monday (15th June). We have been working hard to get our stores ready to welcome you back. The welfare of our staff and customers is our top priority so we have put the following measures in place to keep everyone safe:

  • Our current opening hours:

Monday to Saturday 9am-5:30pm – Open to the general public.

Sunday 10am-4pm –  Open to the general public.
Please note that our Newport showroom will be temporarily CLOSED on Sundays until further notice.

We are also offering 1-to-1 appointments to the vulnerable and the elderly. Please contact us to book an appointment.  

 

  • All our staff will have their temperature taken at the start of each working day.
  • Strict social distancing measures in place at all times.
  • We will be monitoring the amount of people in store at any one time – this may mean there is a short wait outside in busy spells.
  • We have implemented hand sanitising stations at the entrances and exits of both showrooms.
  • All floor displays will be sanitised with unique, Staingard approved, Sanitise+ system. This is designed to kill bacteria and viruses on contact and remains active on the surface to prevent re-infection. 
  • A one-way system has been implemented in our Lake Showroom. There is now a separate entrance and exit, as well as 2 stairwells to ensure minimal passing.
  • Our staff will ensure the stores are kept clean and sanitised throughout the day.
  • We have implemented safety screens at every desk and our staff are equipped with visors.
  • We ask our customers to please pay by card if possible.

Our staff have instruction to stay home if they, or anyone in their household, becomes ill or begins to show any symptoms of Coronavirus. We would kindly ask our customers to do the same and refrain from visiting us if you or any member of your household has or is displaying signs of the virus.

We have lots of exciting new ranges to share with you and some fantastic limited time offers in our Lake Showroom, plus thousands of items in stock ready for quick delivery. Our Newport Showroom will be filled with ex-display and stock clearance items, all available for immediate delivery or to be taken away on the day.

Safe, contactless deliveries:

We are now delivering items which are currently in stock, as well as customer deliveries as and when they are delivered into our warehouse. We are ensuring this is done safely by taking the following precautions:

-          Our Warehouse and Delivery staff have all been equipped with PPE including gloves, masks and hand sanitiser.

-          Strict social distancing measures. The delivery team will work in the same pair whilst social-distancing restrictions remain in place, to reduce the risk of catching and spreading the virus.

-          All our staff will have their temperature taken at the start of each working day.

-          We will not deliver to anyone who is showing any symptoms of coronavirus, nor will we be able to deliver to anyone who is “shielding” or who falls into the “vulnerable” category.

-          Our vans will be regularly cleaned with anti-bacterial treatments.

-          You can choose how you would prefer to receive your delivery:

  1. To a room of choice: in this instance, our drivers will call upon arriving outside your home to confirm you are comfortable with us delivering the furniture. You will then be required to open your front door and all doors leading to the room of choice, allowing our delivery team to enter your home without touching any surfaces. We will also ask that you vacate any room that our delivery team will have to pass through, preferable behind a closed door or if possible, a garden.
  2. Leave furniture at the front door or in an outbuilding: our drivers will contact you upon arrival to confirm you are comfortable for us to deliver and where you’d like us to leave the furniture.

In both scenarios, our drivers will then ask you to inspect your new furniture whilst they wait outside to confirm that you are happy with it. If you have paid for our special delivery service, our drivers are still able to remove the packaging and take it away but in the instance of delivery option 1, we ask our customers to remain in a different room or outside the property so our drivers can do this safely.

 

Outstanding orders:

Our suppliers have now returned to work and are starting by fulfilling orders that were still outstanding pre-lockdown. We’d like to reassure all customers that we are working harder than ever to fulfil all outstanding orders at the earliest opportunity but would like to apologise for any inconvenience that the delays may have caused.

 

Online shopping:

Our website is open all day, every day and we are able to process new orders. Please bear in mind that lead times may be extended whilst our suppliers are fulfilling orders placed prior to lockdown. We keep thousands of items in stock in our warehouses that are available for quick, safe delivery – shop our in-stock products here.

 


 


COVID-19 UPDATE: Showrooms remain temporarily closed. Deliveries open.

Dear Customers,

As a family owned and run business, our number one priority is to maintain the safety of our staff and customers. We want to reassure you that we will continue to follow government guidelines for as long as it takes to ensure we play our part in reducing the spread of COVID19. 

For the time being, our showrooms remain temporarily closed. We are currently planning to re-open the doors to all our showrooms on Monday 15th June with the necessary precautions in place, as long as government advises it is safe for us to do so. Confirmation of the re-opening of our showrooms will be announced on our website and our social media pages and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. 

In the meantime, we are happy to announce that we are back on the roads, offering a safe contactless delivery service. Please read below what this means and the measures we are taking to ensure this can be done safely. 

We have been overwhelmed by the levels of support we have received from our customers over the last few months and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued patience during these unpredictable circumstances. 

 

Individual appointments:

We are now able to offer individual appointments for anyone who would like to come into store sooner than the 15thJune. To book an appointment you can do one of the following:

  • Call 01983 401070 – phone lines are open Monday to Friday 10am – 12pm and 1pm to 3pm.
  • Online web chat – someone is available to speak to via our live chat on our website Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm. Any messages received out of these hours will be answered at the earliest opportunity.

Dear customers,

We hope you and your families are keeping safe and well during this continued period of uncertainty. 

We would like to send some reassurance to all of our customers. We are continuing to follow government advice and are taking all the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID19. Whilst our showrooms remain temporarily closed until further notice, we are going to introduce a click and collect option as well as reduced delivery service as of next week. These services will only be available to customer orders we received pre closure and on new stock item orders. The delivery team will abide by social-distancing guidelines, meaning they will not enter your home to deliver to a room of choice or assemble your products. We will only deliver to your doorstep. Customers who need to make use of the click and collect or delivery options will have a slot given in the morning of the prearranged day. 

To those with outstanding orders that we have not yet received, we’d like to assure you that as soon as it is safe for our suppliers to resume production, we endeavour to work harder than ever to get your furniture to you. 

Please be assured that we a have a few members of staff still available to answer any queries you may have. We will be re-opening our phonelines from Monday (20th April 2020). Someone will be available to take your calls between the hours of 10am – 12pm and 1pm to 3pm Monday to Friday.  Following UK Government Guidelines and to play our part in helping overcome this virus, we are temporarily closed, this includes our showrooms and our delivery services.

However, we will endeavour to do whatever we can for key workers during this unprecedented time.  

Orders can still be placed online but please bear in mind they will be on extended lead times with our suppliers.

Good morning,

After reviewing further directions and advice from the Government to help protect our NHS and those at risk, we have decided it’s best to temporarily pause our delivery service.

We understand this will be very frustrating for many of you, but we ask that you please bear with us whilst we play our part in helping overcome this virus. Once operations are able to resume, we will work hard to fulfil all customer orders at the earliest opportunity.

Our Customer Service team are working hard from home to give support and advice. If you have any queries regarding an existing order you can email customerservice@solentbeds.co.uk. We expect a high number of enquiries over the next few days which could result in a longer response time than usual. All other queries can be sent to sales@solentbeds.co.uk or you can get in contact through the online chat on our website or via our Facebook page.

The website team are also working from home to ensure our website can remain open during this period of uncertainty. This means there will be someone available to assist with your product queries and process your order. There will be someone available to chat to Monday to Friday between 9am – 5.30pm. Sadly, we have to announce that our showrooms are temporarily closed with immediate effect. We must adhere to the latest government guidelines and put the welfare of our customers and employees first and foremost.
 
Please be assured that we are still honouring all orders that are currently in our system and we endeavour to continue with our safe distant deliveries, should customers want us to do so. We will continue to keep in close contact with our suppliers to monitor their operations. Should they experience any disruptions we will inform any affected orders as quickly as possible.
 
Our office team are working remotely, to ensure our online store can remain open whilst our showroom doors are shut. We keep thousands of items in stock, including mattresses, beds, sofas and many other items of furniture. If needed, quick delivery of these items can be arranged.

COVID-19 Statement:

19th March 2020

In line with the current Coronavirus (COVID19) we have been reviewing our processes. We have yet to experience any interference and are open as normal with all aspects of the business operating as usual. We understand the situation is evolving rapidly and we would like to ensure to all our customers that we will do our upmost to keep you informed wherever possible.
 
There are currently no changes with our delivery service and we are aiming to get as many customer deliveries out in case the current situation prevents us from doing so. If you have any specific requirements in regards to how we deliver to you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
 
We are in constant talks with our freight services and suppliers, who are also operating as normal for the time being. Should this change we endeavour to inform our customers as quickly as possible.
 
As we continue to receive regular updates, we are holding daily discussions to review Government advice to ensure we are ready to make any necessary changes to protect our customers and our employees.
